Learn to celebrate your successes!

How often do busy business people pop the cork and take the time out to celebrate their accomplishments?

The answer to this is not very often.

Most of our lives are a constant state of busy, with our to-do-lists never ending.

Although busy work lives usually amount to business prosperity, it is however important to remember to acknowledge our achievements and reward ourselves or the team when we succeed.

When it comes down to it, if we don’t celebrate our successes, then we miss out on the opportunity to reap the benefits of the ‘motivation’ that comes with a reward system.

Motivation is what drives us to achieve our goals after all; it’s what keeps us going when things get tough.

There are various types of motivation, however research has found that positive reward systems gain the best results - so motivation, in its best form, is a great way for people to continue doing what they do, in the best state of mind possible.

And you know what, it doesn’t even need to be a big deal!

Depending on the success achieved, you could celebrate by having a glass of wine with friends or family to share your accomplishments, or even a night away to recharge your batteries.

Not only do these little things make you feel good for the hours you have put into your work life, but also helps you prepare for the next challenge you might have lined up to overcome.

Whether you’ve hit your target at work, getting a promotion or got yourself a new job – remember to take time to celebrate your success and recognise it in others.

So as we enter into the end months of 2015, reflect back on your work achievements over the past year and ask yourself:

  • 1)What have been my biggest achievements in the past year?
  • 2)What were my biggest fears and how did I overcome these to succeed?
  • 3)What am I most proud of?
  • 4)What were the mistakes that I learnt from?
  • 5)What were some of my small daily wins? - Because these matter too!

These are our tips for self-recognition of success, and at Call2View we believe it is detrimental for all our staff to get into a routine where we regularly ask ourselves these questions and take the time out to reflect and reward ourselves.

If you’re a visual person, write your answers to these questions down in your journal or even as a note on your phone. You can then refer back to these points to reflect, or in setting new goals.

And remember, all your small successes eventuate into bigger ones; so celebrate your achievements because you deserve it!
