It’s officially 3 more sleeps until Christmas 2015, and we wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and safe festive season.

We have thoroughly enjoyed working with all of our clients throughout 2015, and look forward to working with you into the New Year!

But before we take down the 2015 calendar and replace it with a fresh 2016 one, let’s get into the Christmas spirit!

For us at Call2View, Christmas isn’t about what’s under the Christmas tree, but rather about the people that gather around it; it’s all about taking the time out to celebrate family and friends.
In saying that, the large proportion of us get into the Christmas spirit by decking our halls, walls and tables with Christmas related ornaments and lights, and doing so has become a tradition.

If you can’t find that box labelled ‘Christmas Decorations’ in your garage, or think it’s time to update those dust covered baubles, read on – as we have decked out our top tips below to decorating your home this Christmas.

Christmas Trees

It is tradition of course to have a Christmas tree, and for those who have kids, it’s all in the lead up to the actual day. However, a trend has been emerging in this particular area over the last few years, where people are tending to opt for varying versions of structures which resemble the traditional Christmas tree.

From ladders to constructed sticks, those arty amongst us really know how to turn just about anything into eye catching display. It’s all about that rustic look after all!

Christmas Wreaths

Wreaths are so in right now, especially those made from live foliage, delicate feathers, flowers or even succulents. The wreath is such a classic Christmas decoration, however these modern twists will bring something a little different to your front gate/door this Christmas.

Also, try hanging a few wreaths of varied sizes on a white wall, from windows, up on the fireplace mantel or as a centre piece on your table.

Decorations/Ornaments

It’s not always about out with the old and in with the new. When it comes to decorations, little vintage wooden decorations are timeless – remember the wooden soldiers and Christmas sleighs?

As for the ornaments, why not replace all your plastic Santa’s with a vase of beautiful native flowers – nothing says Australian Christmas like an arrangement of Banksias, Kangaroo Paw, Pincushions and Gum foliage.

Lights

Dressing the exterior of the house with Christmas lights has become such a big thing, that competitive competitions actually exists!

But in more recent years, thanks to the marquee lights and wooden letter trend, side boards and mantels can come to life with Christmas themed words, such as Joy, Noel and Merry.

Scents

There’s nothing like the smell of ginger and cinnamon on Christmas day! But if you find yourself too busy cooking (not burning) the turkey or watching the kids open Santa presents, how about buying a few scented candles to bring about those sweet scents?

It’s not really cheating is it? Scented candles can be found pretty much anywhere these days. Try to find a few candles with berry, cinnamon and vanilla notes – this is certain to set that Christmas mood.

Our office will remain opened over the Christmas break, so don’t hesitate to call or pop in. See you all in the new year!
