Real Estate in the Digital Era

We’re sure most of you would agree with us when we say that technology makes life easier.

At Call2View Real Estate we like to call ourselves the 'early adopters'; we like to trial new toys and gadgets that continue to improve and advance the world of real estate.

Cue Scanned3D Tours, Drones and Homepass!

It has been said that the real estate industry is one of the most tech savvy industries out there today, having evolved so rapidly in this space over the last 10-20 years.

In an era where information is so readily available at our finger tips, it is easy to forget how little access people did have just over 10 years ago!

Yes...we're talking about the days of making those trips around town to view properties for sale in real estate windows.

A time before information was available online with videos and virtual tours to accompany it - a time before social media allowed us to disseminate information to followers, for followers to then like, share, retweet or regram.

We are now living in a time where anyone can publish anything online - a world of citizen journalism, where editors or fact checkers are not required as such.

So how is technology changing the game...the real estate game that is?!

Information at our finger tips

Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are assisting agents to access information at all times. Consumers are also using apps and search engines on these devices to search for homes on the market, with realestate.com and Domain being the top two free real estate apps for property investors.

Emerging technology in video

Sales agents are turning to emerging technology in video, with 3D imagery and drone photography being two big game changers. These emerging technologies have the capacity to provide an overview of a property and its surrounding area to an extent never seen before.

It's a 24/7 gig

Yep that's right - technology means the expectation to be able to access and obtain goods and services immediately...and 24/7 is now the norm.

Increased interaction and instant gratification

With various mediums to communicate a message (and with ease), there is no excuse not to share information or participate in online discussions - the reach is no longer limited to individual circles.

Increased competition/motivation to advance

With increased platforms to push business successes and services, competition is at an all-time high - it's a matter of 'keep up or fall behind'. New technologies are shaping the way of the future in real estate, and implementation of these new technologies are pivotal to staying ahead of the pack.

Remember technology is just a tool - it's what we do with it and how we use it that counts.
